LOOTB #1820: Rosario
This sweet little girl is Rosario. She is 5 years old, her favorite animals are chickens and her favorite color is yellow!
She goes to preschool in a small town called Santiago on the edge of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. We met her through a wonderful local project called Mayan Families–a nonprofit that reaches out in the Highlands of Guatemala, working to provide opportunities and assistance to the indigenous and impoverished people through education and community development programs. They believe that receiving an education is one of the most significant and sustainable ways in which children can improve the standard of living for themselves and their families and we couldn’t agree more. So far over 2,500 students are being currently sponsored to attend school through their program that would not have been able to go to school without a sponsor.
This notebook & pencil will allow her to pursue her passion of getting creative & learning (see The Value of a Notebook). We know that she’ll be able to do some awesome things at school or at home with it. Thank you for your support.
